The Dancer and the Cameraman

Last month I received some interesting email from a fan who identified his parents in photos he saw on the site and he wondered how he might get copies.  I directed him to several fans and collectors who I thought might have some and also to MPTV.net who I believe now has control of the images.  He told me a little bit about them to share and was going to provide more background but I hadn't heard back from him. Having forgot about it until this week I decided to condense his emails and repost them here:

Hi James,

I ran across Scotty Moore's website and saw color photos of Elvis, Scotty & the Band Performing on the USS Hancock in 1956.

These photos were EXTREMELY exciting for myself and my family since my father John James who was an NBC cameraman and my mother who was a professional dancer are seen in these photos!!

My Dad is the only man wearing a checkered shirt and has black hair, he's standing behind the camera dolly in #1 photo and in the center in photo #2.

My Mom is pictured on stage with Elvis to his left, but it's a little fuzzy when I zoom in.

Is there any chance that reprints of these shots may be available? Anyway it was extremely exciting to see these, and I would be willing to pay the expense for copies and also hoping there are more of this show that may exist??

Dad's name is John James (NBC Cameraman from 1955-1978). Mom's name was Kay James.

She began her career dancing in "The Our Gang" comedy's at the age of six in 1939. I really love the great job you did on the website, and that would be fantastic if you can forward them to the collectors!

Thanks again for all your help!!

Sincerely,
